Your spa has, most likely, been enjoyed for months now but now your water will begin eating up chemicals making it more difficult to balance. This means it’s time to drain the spa and start over to avoid this task during the frigid winter months!
Step 1: Stop into Premier Pool & Spa to pick up a spa flush.
- The spa flush will loosen up any biofilm debris in the plumbing. Biofilm can affect chlorine levels negatively when trying to balance water.
- Biofilm builds up when you are using the spa; this film comes from oils & other organic materials bathers bring into the water.
Step 2: Drain the old spa water.
- Before removing water from the spa, make sure the power is turned off. Once turned off you may begin draining the water.
Step 3: Wipe down the shell.
- The system flush is meant to get the biofilm debris out of the plumbing. When the debris detaches, it will re-collect on the shell surface.
- To remove it, use a surface cleaner to spray the shell down then wipe the cleaner & debris off with a microfiber cloth. You can rinse the shell off with water from your hose, but this is not necessary.
